It was five years ago today…
that I married my loving Wife. She has always been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. We have been together for over nine years now, and they have been the happiest years of my life. Happy Anniversary Sweetie!!
The Wife and I met in April of 1996 in a chat room on America Online (yeah, yeah I know. That was the only game in town back then, so back off!!). We hit it off instantly, and it was like we had known each other all of our lives. I was living in my hometown in Missouri and she was living in Washington St. We both came from completely different backgrounds, but it didn?t matter to us at all.
In a short time we went from e-mailing everyday, to talking on the phone in a few months. I remember that first phone conversation like it was yesterday. There were some pretty nasty thunderstorms going on that night in my neck of the woods, and about 15 minutes into the conversation; lightning struck, thunder boomed, and then the power went out. I should have known then what I was getting into. 
The Soon-to-be-Wife and I met face to face for the first time on Labor Day of that same year, when she came down to see me for the weekend (after trading pictures, first time The Wife saw my picture I was wearing a Flash shirt making a running pose 
). I asked her to marry me a week after she left, and she said yes right then.
We had a long distance relationship for a little over a year, with visits in-between, before I was able to move up to Washington St. to live with her. It was there I was able to get into the IT industry, and develop a career. After four years of living in sin, we finally made each other honest and got married on August 12th, 2000 in front of our friends and family.
A few years later, a new job and another trip cross country to the humid but beautiful state of Mississippi brings me full circle to the present. It?s been quite an adventure, and I look forward to what our future brings.
