A new comic book auction site, www.comicconnect.com, has opened for business and is offering its services free of charge until September 2007, and the company has publically stated that there will be no seller fees until that time.ComicConnect intends to give the user control over setting the prices paid and received for the sale of items on the site.
“For a long time, Vincent Zurzolo and Stephen Fishler of Metropolis have felt that there is an unanswered need in the comic collecting community. They constantly heard complaints about consignment websites, eBay and auction houses. They listened. More importantly, they’ve done something about it,” the company said in a press release.
“This is not a dealer’s site. This is not Metropolis’ site. ComicConnect.com is your site,” they said.
“The site is well laid out and easy to use – even for the novice collector. Buyers and sellers are screened to protect all aspects of the transaction. Pre-screeners will check for grade accuracy as well as preliminary checks for restoration,” they said.
“There aren’t the exorbitant sellers’ fees to take a cut out of what money the seller receives either. ComicConnect is, quite simply, a better model for buying and
selling comics, where the users of ComicConnect are the ones who benefit most,” they said. The staff of ComicConnect is also always standing by to provide guidance to collectors and to answer whatever questions you might
have about getting started buying and selling. With well over 50 years of combined experience in the market place, you will have the most knowledgeable
minds in the business at your disposal if questions arise. Also, ComicConnect’s Site Administrator, Jason Trobman, is available to answer
technical questions via email at support@comicconnect.com or by phone at (212) 895 -3999.

In all the excitement surrounding the news of Frank Miller signing on to
helm a big screen adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit and Robert Rodriguez
being tapped to take on a Barbarella remake, fans may not have taken time to
calm, assess, and let sink in the fact that these two high-profile projects will
inevitably slow the Sin City 2 filming process.
The sequel to the
successful Miller/Rodriguez collaboration is still on; however, no start date
had been set for its production even before the two directors took on other
works.
When will we see the return of the noir, monochrome characters
that riveted us lo those many months ago? Only time will tell.
Which film
are you most excited to see: The Spirit, Barbarella, or Sin City
2? Let us
know.

Comics2Film turns 10, invites fans to Celebrate
Filed under: Comic Book Movie\TV News, Comic Book News, From the Blogverse
On June 4th Comics2Film.com, the web’s longest-running resource for news about comic-based movies relaunches with a new look, new features and a year’s worth of daily giveaways for the fans.
——–
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 – Rob M. Worley announced today the official unveiling of the all-new, all-different Comics2Film.com, in celebration of the website’s 10th anniversary online. With a new look, new features and daily giveaways of DVDs, studio swag and other prizes, C2F stands ready to celebrate with fans during what’s shaping up to be the most explosive box office season for comic-based movies yet.
With films like SPIDER-MAN 3, 300, GHOST RIDER and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES dominating 2007′s early box office season there’s little doubt that comic book movies are here to stay.
“When I started Comics2Film in May of 1997 it was born out of simple passion as a fan,” said Worley, founder and editor of the site. “Disappointing movies like STEEL and BATMAN & ROBIN were pretty much what we had come to expect from comic-to-film adaptations, but I loved them anyway. And I knew there were great, visual stories being told in comics, and Hollywood was going to tap into that in a big way eventually.”
Readers have clicked-in daily as Comics2Film has charted the progress of films like BLADE, X-MEN and SPIDER-MAN, which combined to transform Marvel comics from box-office poison to an unstoppable hit-making machine. As the site’s audience grew, C2F began routinely breaking stories ahead of the mainstream Hollywood press. Worley has frequently been cited as an expert on the subject by such news outlets as USA Today, CNN, Fox News and many others.
“It’s amazing to see how far the notion of a comic-book movie has come, and 2007 is just getting started,” Worley said. “Fans have movies like FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER, TRANSFORMERS and STARDUST in the pipeline still, and a seemingly endless list of projects down the road. Comics2Film, in its newest form, will be there for the next ten years covering everything, from the big Marvel and DC blockbusters, to indie-based TV fare like Jimmy Palmiotti’s PAINKILLER JANE, Mike Oeming’s THEM and Komikwerks’ WORLD OF QUEST.”
That new form includes new writers bringing exclusive stories to the fans, a completely revamped look and feel, and new features to encourage reader participation. Last, but certainly not least, this week will bring the launch of daily giveaways on the site, with cool prizes including hard-to-find movie gear direct from the studios, premium items like maquettes and iPods, and numerous DVDs.
The excitement starts Monday at http://www.comics2film.com and lasts a full year as Comics2Film celebrates its 10th birthday with the fans who made it what it is today.
