the question is answered. Since he started his run on the series with
#0, Brad Meltzer made no secret that his run as the writer on Justice League of America would end with #12. And that’s in August.So – who gets the job next?
Dwayne McDuffie, longtime comics writer, and perhaps, best known in JLA fans view as one of the writers on the animated Justice League Unlimited series. McDuffie will start with the JLA Wedding Special in September, shipping just prior to Justice League of America #13, with art by Joe Benitez (regaulr series artist Ed Benes will return on the series with #14).
While we’ll have a chat with McDuffie shortly, we spoke with DCU Executive Editor Dan DiDio about the new writer.

HEROES CON/WW: PHILLY ’07 – DC’s COUNTING ON MORE COUNTDOWN
As announced earlier today at Philadelphia, in September DC will continue to expand upon and explore the world of Countdown with Countdown to Mystery, a new eight issue series beginning in September that like Countdown to Adventure will feature two stories each issue, this time exploring the magical/mystical corner of the DCU.The first story by writer Steve Gerber and artists Justiniano and Walden Wong will pick up on the fate of the Helmut of Fate, after the series of one-shots several months ago. Then the back-up story by Matt Sturges and Stephen Segovia stars Eclipso.
We caught up with both writers for some brief words about their respective stories…

DC Comics started their Wizard World Philadelphia programming Friday afternoon with “Counting Down: So Begins the End,” dedicated to their current weekly series, Countdown.
The panel was led by DC’s Vice President of Sales Bob Wayne, who was
joined by editors Mike Carlin, Eddie Berganza, and artist Jim
