The ever-popular juxtaposition of Star Wars and Lego that is the Lego Star Wars franchise has become one of the best-selling casual games in recent memory. With the announcement of Lego Batman, the newest entry in the Lego franchise, TT Games and Warner Bros. are hoping to repeat past success with a new face and if the newly-disclosed details of the title are any indication, they seem to be on track.Lego Batman allows players to “explore a richly interactive
LEGO Gotham City as Batman and Robin, capturing infamous villains—and
even take control of the villains themselves.” A huge cast of
unlockable characters even more diverse than their Star Wars
counterparts will be available. The game will always feature a variety
of Batman’s different gadgets and some of the fan-favourite vehicles.
And of course, co-op play will be available.Samantha Ryan, Warner Bros. Interactive senior vice president,
expressed her confidence in the continued success of the franchise:
“Working with TT Games, we are confident they will continue their Lego
games’ success with this title, and we will expand our publishing
endeavors with the introduction of the Lego Batman franchise.”Lego Batman will be hitting every current-generation console and PCs in 2008.
