My Comic Book Blog Manifesto
As my work on the book looks like it is finally winding down and it actually might get published (cross your fingers), I can now spend some time writing about what I want to write about.
Comic Books
When I first started this blog, my intent was to feature “timely” comic book news and reviews, plus other things that I think might interest the other geeks that I know are out there.
I started OK (at least I think I did), but life, work, the book, and the lack of a reliable source of new comics on a weekly basis totally derailed that plan.
This is the year that I am going to try to change that.
Now there is no way I am going to be able to produce super-fast news items like those sites out there that actually pay people to provide that kind of thing. ? ? I do think that making the “New Comic Weblog Updates page” went a long way to help people keep track of what was going on in the comic blogverse, but thinking that I could keep up with sites that “cover news” for a living was just silly.? So with that in mind, I will just let the professionals handle that for the most part, and throw in things that I think that are really important when they come up.
What I am going to do my best to do, is a review of every single comic I read; long or short; be it new, old, or in a trade.? I might get ambitious and start doing reviews of every comic I own, you never know.
I am also going to try to comment on comic related “Internet buzz”, movie reviews and anything else I feel like doing.? I might even throw in some contests with prizes if I truly get inspired, after all I have some stuff I need to get rid of around the secret blogging cave.
The bottom line is I love comic books, and everything about them.? I really want to write about them, even if no one else reads it.? Hopefully though, the three or four of you that still follow this blog will actually like my stuff and actually make some comments about it.
