‘Iron Man 2′ Updates And Green Lantern Sketches In Today’s Twitter Report

Posted 1 hr ago by Brian Warmoth in Twitter Report

Iron Man 2I could probably dedicate this feature solely toward cataloging comics creators’ late-hour work tweets. They were legion last night, and I even slipped one into today’s Twitter Report featuring the sage words of Paul Pope. Dedicated Twitterer Jon Favreau also showed up in our feed with an update about the editing process for “Iron Man 2.”

There’s been a lively discussion about pizza bouncing around comics industry Twitter accounts over the last 48 hours. On a less controversial note, though, the Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con show will host an auction to benefit one of comics’ most prolific writers, John Ostrander, and his fellow scribe Ron Marz tweeted a sample Green Lantern sketch that will be among the works available Sunday on the auction block.

Back on the subject of hard work, however, I’d like to include a note of public congratulations to Jon Rosenberg, who tweeted that he’s now passed the 2500-strip mark for his webcomic “Goats.” Check out all of that and more in this Twitter Report for August 5, 2009.

@Jon_Favreau Just saw the editor’s assembly of IM2.Assembly is generally the daunting low point of post. This time, however, I was stoked. This’ll be fun.
-Jon Favreau, Director (“Iron Man 2″)

@BRIANMBENDIS david mack came to portland and stole my Asterios Polyp before i could finish it. i didn’t even get to the zombies yet.
-Brian Michael Bendis, Writer (“New Avengers,” “Powers”)

@ronmarz Look at the kick-ass GL sketch by @matthewdowsmith. http://bit.ly/LKq7A
-Ron Marz, Writer (“Witchblade,” “Green Lantern”)

@ronmarz More sketches will go into the book before it’s auctioned at the Chicago con to benefit John Ostrander. So bid early and often!

@mattfraction he solved the case of the purloined penpushers of pyonyang; can Encyclopedia President Clinton crack the Bogus Birth Certificate Boondoggle?
-Matt Fraction, Writer (“The Invincible Iron Man,” “Casanova”)

@jonrosenberg Man, I passed 2500 strips a few weeks back and barely noticed. Maybe I’ll start celebrating every 1000 strips instead of every 500.
-Jonathan Rosenberg, Writer/Artist (“Goats”)

@Todd_McFarlane COMICS: Just finished inking the cover to SPAWN issue 195. Greg Cappullo did a fantastic job…again, on the pencils. Would you like to see?
-Todd McFarlane, Writer/Artist (“Spawn,” “The Amazing Spider-Man”)

@pulphope 4am, bleary, still drawing. These deadlines ceased to be romantic long ago. Taking time off is only stealing it from your future self.
-Paul Pope, Writer/Artist (“Batman: Year 100,” “Battling Boy”)

Parting Wisdom For The Day:

@MKupperman The 80s was a great time for math-based TV heroes: The Equalizer, The Tabulator, The Guesstimator etc.
-Michael Kupperman, Writer/Artist (“Tales Designed to Thrizzle”)
